ECSI Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Course

The Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Course is an advanced prehospital care program designed to train individuals to provide immediate, lifesaving medical care in emergency situations prior to the arrival of ambulance or advanced medical services. This course goes beyond basic first aid and CPR, focusing on systematic patient assessment, airway management, trauma care, and medical emergency management. Participants will develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to stabilize patients, support life functions, and assist higher-level medical personnel during emergencies.

The EMR course emphasizes a structured approach to emergency care, integrating both medical and trauma management with real-world scenarios and hands-on practical training. Upon successful completion, participants will receive an ECSI Emergency Medical Responder Certification, AHA BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Certification and American College of Surgeons's STOP THE BLEED Certificate.
 

Course Topics

Participants will be trained in:
  • Scene size-up and personal safety
  • Primary and secondary patient assessment
  • Airway management and ventilation techniques
  • Oxygen administration
  • Adult, child, and infant CPR and AED use
  • Management of cardiac arrest and respiratory emergencies
  • Trauma care including bleeding control, shock management, and spinal motion restriction
  • Musculoskeletal injuries and splinting
  • Medical emergencies (e.g. stroke, heart attack, seizures, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions)
  • Obstetric emergencies and basic childbirth
  • Patient lifting, moving, and extrication principles
  • Incident management and communication with EMS

ECSI Pet First Aid & Disaster Response Course

The Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) Pet First Aid & Disaster Response Course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills to provide emergency care for pets and respond effectively during disaster situations involving animals.

This course focuses on the recognition and management of common pet emergencies, as well as safe handling techniques to prevent injury to both the rescuer and the animal. Participants will also learn how to prepare for, respond to, and manage pets during disasters such as floods, fires, and other emergencies. Through a combination of interactive learning and hands-on practice, participants will gain the confidence to act quickly and appropriately when pets are injured, ill, or in distress.
 

Course Duration

  • 8 hours
  • Conducted as a 1-day course
  • Includes both theory and practical skills training
 

Course Topics

Participants will learn how to:
  • Perform basic pet assessment and recognize signs of distress
  • Safely approach and restrain injured or frightened animals
  • Provide basic first aid for pets, including bleeding control and wound care
  • Manage choking and breathing emergencies in pets
  • Recognize and respond to common medical conditions (e.g. poisoning, heatstroke, seizures)
  • Perform basic pet CPR (dogs and cats)
  • Prepare pet emergency kits and evacuation plans
  • Respond to disasters involving animals (e.g. floods, fires, evacuations)

ECSI First Aid, CPR & AED Course (2 Days Program with Simulation)

The Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) First Aid, CPR & AED Course equips participants with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills required to respond confidently during medical emergencies. This internationally recognized program teaches lifesaving techniques based on current evidence-based guidelines and best practices in emergency care.

Participants will learn how to recognize life-threatening situations and provide immediate assistance while waiting for professional medical help to arrive. The course combines interactive learning with practical skills training to ensure participants are capable of performing interventions safely and effectively. Training includes hands-on practice using CPR manikins and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) trainers, allowing participants to develop the confidence needed to act quickly in real-world emergencies.

  • Adult, Child, and Infant CPR
  • Proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Recognizing and managing cardiac arrest
  • Choking relief techniques
  • Basic First Aid for common injuries and illnesses

Upon successful completion, participants will receive an ECSI First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Certification, American College Of Surgeon’s STOP THE BLEED Certificate

ECSI Wilderness First Aid Course

The Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) Wilderness First Aid Course prepares participants to respond effectively to medical emergencies in remote and austere environments where access to immediate professional care is limited or delayed.

This course focuses on patient assessment, stabilization, and prolonged care using limited resources. Participants will learn how to make critical decisions in challenging environments, manage injuries and illnesses, and safely evacuate patients when necessary. Training emphasizes real-world scenarios, problem-solving, and hands-on skills to build confidence in managing emergencies when you are the first—and possibly only—responder.
 

Course Levels & Duration

Basic Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

  • Fee: RM650
  • Requirement: Minimum 6 pax , No prior medical training is required
  • Duration: 16 hours (8 hours classroom + 8 hours in remote)
Designed to provide fundamental knowledge and skills for short trips and low-risk environments.
 

Advanced Wilderness First Aid - Medical Provider (AWFA - MP)

  • Fee: RM 2000
  • Requirement: Minimum 6 pax, Medical Professionals Only (Eg: Nurse, Medical Assistant and Doctors)
  • Duration:: 4 days (2 days Classroom, 2 days in remote)
A more in-depth program focusing on extended patient care, leadership in emergencies, and management of complex trauma and medical conditions in remote settings.

  • Scene safety and wilderness risk assessment
  • Patient assessment system (primary & secondary surveys)
  • Management of trauma (bleeding, fractures, spinal injuries)
  • Environmental emergencies (heat stroke, hypothermia, dehydration)
  • Wound care and infection prevention in remote settings
  • Improvised splinting and patient packaging
  • Medical emergencies (allergic reactions, asthma, cardiac conditions)
  • Prolonged patient care and monitoring
  • Evacuation decision-making and communication strategies
Participants will also learn how to improvise with limited equipment and adapt to unpredictable conditions.
