Tactical Emergency Casualty Care

TECC – BLS / ALS Medical Provider Course

The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) – BLS / ALS Medical Provider Course is designed for healthcare professionals and trained responders who are required to deliver advanced medical care in high-threat and operational environments.

Built on the principles and guidelines of the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, this course integrates evidence-based trauma care with tactical considerations. It prepares participants to manage critically injured patients during active threats, mass casualty incidents, and austere conditions where resources are limited and evacuation may be delayed.
Participants will learn to adapt their clinical skills to dynamic environments while maintaining safety, situational awareness, and operational effectiveness across all phases of care:
  • Direct Threat Care (Hot Zone)
  • Indirect Threat Care (Warm Zone)
  • Evacuation Care (Cold Zone)
 

Course Duration

TECC – BLS / ALS Medical Provider Course

Duration: 36 hours (3 days 2 nights with Classroom, Practical assessment, Dark/Low light Simulation + Force on Force Simulation).
Advanced-level training for medical professionals, emphasizing critical care decision-making, invasive interventions, and prolonged field care.

Course Topics

  • Threat-based casualty care and tactical medical principles
  • Advanced patient assessment in dynamic environments
  • Massive hemorrhage control (tourniquets, hemostatic agents, junctional bleeding)
  • Airway management (basic to advanced adjuncts)
  • Respiratory trauma management (chest seals, needle decompression*)
  • Shock recognition and resuscitation strategies
  • Fluid management and prolonged field care concepts
  • Analgesia and medication considerations in the field
  • Triage and Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) management
  • Casualty evacuation and coordination with EMS/hospital systems
  • Documentation and communication in tactical operations
*Advanced procedures are taught in accordance with participant scope of practice.
